About

I came to composing inspired by Daughters’ work on Life is Strange. Their ability to blend traditional melody with spacey atmospheres, deepening the emotional impact of the narrative while simultaneously enhancing the environment, is incredible to me. My other key inspirations include the minimalism of The Last of Us and the otherworldly sampling and moody grooves of Silent Hill. I love combining traditional melody and guitar with samples, as well as the unconventional rhythms found in PS2-era survival horror soundtracks.

Juxtaposition is my go-to tool for telling stories through music. The blending and transitioning between contrasting soundscapes brings out emotional nuances that are unique to each game’s identity, while also carrying the pace of the gameplay and narrative. When this is done well, it creates a sense of immersion that becomes inseparable from the experience of playing the game—not just hearing and seeing it, but truly feeling it.
I use gentle folk guitar, spacey and moody riffs, unconventional sampling, and occasionally a touch of metal intensity to keep the player on their toes. This approach ensures that the player is constantly discovering new layers of depth within the narrative at every story beat.
